Application to Tyee
Tyee accepts new skiers at the end of each ski season for the following season. We are accepting skiers in all age groups. Information session will be hosted in February and March. Tryout date is normally scheduled at the end of March or early April at Grouse Mountain.
Application Process
Typically our application process follows these steps:
- Create Tyee Crossbar account: Account Creation Instruction
- Submit your application: Applications will open in February and must be filled out and submitted in order to be considered.
- Attend an info session: We host multiple info sessions (online and in-person) starting at the end of February and running until the spring to educate potential members about Tyee and share what it means to be a part of the Grouse Tyee Ski Club. (Sign-up for info session will be emailed to you)
- Your child attends the Try Tyee: We host tryouts for our potential athletes. During these tryouts our coaches will ski with your children to determine if they are ready for the program, or might need another year of practice before joining.

What if I can't make the dates?
If you’re unable to attend the main Try Tyee event then please email membership@grousetyee.com. We’ll do our best to arrange an alternative Try Tyee date, subject to availability.
Is there a cost?
At Grouse Mountain - Yes, the Try Tyee registration fee includes a ski lift ticket for the participating athlete(s) and one additional ski lift ticket for an accompanying adult from the same family.
This ensures both the athlete and a family member can be on the mountain at the same time.
At Whistler - No free lift ticket will be available; however, we will offer discounted lift ticket for you to purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Try Tyee Fees are non-refundable.
Once payment has been submitted, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, including withdrawal from tryouts or failure to attend.
This policy ensures fairness and consistency for all participants and helps cover administrative and operational costs associated with organizing tryouts.
